Hi @Jpilot ,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

Certainly! If you're having trouble scanning from your HP Envy Inspire 7900 series printer to your iPad, there are a few troubleshooting steps you can follow:

Check Connection:

  • Ensure that both your printer and iPad are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
  • Make sure that the printer is powered on and ready.
  • Restart both your printer and iPad.

Update Firmware:

  • Check if there's a firmware update available for your printer on the HP website. Sometimes, updates can improve compatibility and functionality.

HP Smart App:

  • Download and install the HP Smart app from the App Store on your iPad.
  • Open the app and add your printer to the app.

Use HP Smart App for Scanning:

  • Open the HP Smart app on your iPad.
  • Tap on "Scan" in the app.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the scanning process.

Check for Dedicated Scan App:

  • Some printers may have a dedicated scanning app. Check if your printer has a specific scanning app available for download on the App Store.

Reinstall the HP Smart App:

  • Delete the HP Smart app from your iPad.
  • Reinstall the app from the App Store.
  • Add your printer to the app and try scanning again.

HP Printer Software on Computer:

  • If you have a computer connected to the same network as your printer, make sure you have the HP printer software installed on the computer.
  • Use the computer as an intermediary for scanning and transfer the scanned documents to your iPad.

Check for Printer Icon:

  • Open the HP Smart app on your iPad.
  • Look for a printer icon or a scan option within the app.
  • Follow the on-screen instructions for scanning.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
