Why can't I just make a copy!!!?

I would guess you are using an unknown printer that is out of ink, set to the wrong paper, broken, or otherwise unable to "Copy".

Printers are "Printers First" - printers generally include a Copy feature -- the Copy option, like other Printer features, requires that the printer be fully functional.  Caveat:  Copy / Scan and Print use different mechanics - it is possible that printing might work and Copy / Scan would not do so.

How to use copy is explained in your printer user manual.

You might wish to re-ask your question - provide the required information.
