The paper keeps jamming in the automatic document feed, so I can only prinrt or fax things one at a time from the glass.  The only videos I can find are for the paper feeder.  I can't see any way of accessing the feed or cleaning any part of that.

@lasernurse,

Thank you for stopping by the HP forums. I understand that you are facing issues ADF paper jams on the printer. I will be really glad to assist you here. 🙂

Great description and splendid diagnosis of the issue before posting. Kudos to you for that. 🙂 You are a valued HP customer and it is paramount to assist you with it. I take it as a privilege to share this.

For better clarity, I would require more information regarding this to assist you?

  • Is the printer connected directly to the wall outlet bypassing power strips?
  • Have you hard reset the printer?
  • Have you tried to clean the ADF pickup rollers and clean the ADF and scanner glass strip
  • Have you tried to make a copy from the ADF?

In the meantime, let's try these steps here:

Perform a Hard reset on the printer and make sure that the printer is connected directly to the wall outlet and not to the surge protector.

With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer and also unplug the power cord from the wall outlet.

Remove USB cable, if present.

Wait for 2-3 minutes, press and hold the power button on your printer for about 30 seconds to remove any additional charge.

Now plug back the power cable straight to a wall outlet without any surge protector or an extension cord and then plug back the power cord to the printer.

Turn on the printer and wait till warm-up period finishes and the printer is idle.

For a start please perform these steps:

  • Please try to make a few copies directly from the ADF and check if there are any jams or errors related to paper jams.
  • Make a few copies directly from the flatbed also.

Next thing, I would suggest you try these steps here:
