Hi @BruceW44,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

Thanks for reaching out. Based on your description of your HP OfficeJet Pro 8025e All-in-One Printer, when using the scanner glass, your printouts exhibit distracting orange streaks, as though a light source inside the scanner is casting lines across the entire page. This is usually caused by debris, dust, or marks on the scanner glass or the white backing strip, or a failing scanner light.

1. Clean the Scanner Glass & White Backing Strip:

  • Turn off the printer and unplug the power cord.
  • Open the scanner lid.
  • Use a soft, lint-free cloth lightly moistened with glass cleaner (not sprayed directly on the glass).
  • Gently clean the entire glass and the white strip under the lid.
  • Dry thoroughly with another lint-free cloth.
  • Plug the printer back in and retry.

2. Run a Copy Test Again from the Glass:

  • Place a clean white sheet of paper and make a copy.
  • Check if the orange lines still appear.

3. Try the Document Feeder (if available):

  • If your printer has an ADF (Automatic Document Feeder), try copying from there.
  • If the lines don’t appear, the issue is isolated to the scanner glass or internal light.

4. Update Firmware (Optional):

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
