Hi - i just got the Envy 7255e All in one printer... I use a Mac and am a designer who needs to scan at high-res dpi. My Macbook Pro is running on the Sonoma OS 14.1.1 OS.  The highest dpi the HP app / interface allows me to scan is 300dpi -- but the advertised scanning capabilities are listed as much higher...  How can I scan at higher resolutions with a Macbook? I need at least 600dpi...

Hi @bbersche,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

I'd be happy to help you!

To scan at a higher resolution than 300dpi using your HP Envy 7255e on a Mac, you may need to adjust the scanning settings. Here are the general steps:

  • Open the HP Smart app on your Mac.
  • Select the "Scan" option.
  • Choose the type of scan you want to perform (e.g., document, photo).
  • Look for an option or setting related to "Resolution" or "DPI." It might be under advanced settings or a similar section.
  • Increase the resolution to your desired value. Some scanners allow you to manually enter the DPI, while others may have preset options (e.g., 600dpi, 1200dpi).
  • Once you've set the desired resolution, proceed with the scanning process.

Keep in mind that the specific steps and options may vary depending on the version of the HP Smart app you're using and the capabilities of your HP Envy 7255e. If you can't find the resolution settings in the app, you may want to check the User Manual on pages 35-38.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted for further assistance.
