Using HP Smart, I lost my ID card preset selection. I spent several hours researching settings, uninstalling and reinstalling software, printers, and drivers until I finally figured out I had been logged out of my account in the HP smart app. Open the app, at the top left is the profile icon, press it, and login. ID card  now appears as an option for my scanner. Problem solved

Hi @_Bill,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

When the ID Card preset or other advanced scanning features disappear in the HP Smart app, it's often because the user has been logged out of their HP Smart account. Logging back in usually restores these features.

Quick Fix Steps:

  1. Open the HP Smart app.
  2. Tap the profile icon at the top left.
  3. Sign in to your HP Smart account.
  4. The ID Card option should now reappear under scan presets.

For more detailed troubleshooting and requirements for advanced features like ID Card scanning, you can refer to this HP support page: 👉 HP printers - Cannot find the advanced features in the HP Smart app | HP® Support

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
