I uninstalled my printer and reinstalled for was having an issue with printing envelopes.

When I reinstalled the printer, I lost the icon on my taskbar.  It is now just a white square blank on my task bar instead of a photo of a scanner.

How do I find an icon that I can load to my taskbar for the scanner.

My HP printer icon does not offer me an icon for my scanner

Welcome to the HP Support Community! I'd like to help!

 

I see you are experiencing issues with the HP Officejet Pro 8600 E-All-In-One Printer.

 

I have a few recommendations 

  • Check this resource on how to do that https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HqHf2xQhYJ8
  • Click on the printer Icon (on your desktop) and it will bring up the HP Printer Assistant. 2. Under the Scan menu, there is a “Manage Scan to Computer”, click on that.

Try these steps:

  1. Open Control Panel, go to Devices and Printers section. 
  2. Right click on your printer and select Create shortcut.
  3. Windows couldn't create a shortcut in Control Panel, hence its asks you to create a shortcut at Desktop instead. 
  4. Go to Desktop and you'll find the printer icon/shortcut there.
