I uninstalled my printer and reinstalled for was having an issue with printing envelopes.
When I reinstalled the printer, I lost the icon on my taskbar. It is now just a white square blank on my task bar instead of a photo of a scanner.
How do I find an icon that I can load to my taskbar for the scanner.
My HP printer icon does not offer me an icon for my scanner

Hi@MAC2022,
Welcome to the HP Support Community! I'd like to help!
I see you are experiencing issues with the HP Officejet Pro 8600 E-All-In-One Printer.
I have a few recommendations
- Check this resource on how to do that https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=HqHf2xQhYJ8
- Click on the printer Icon (on your desktop) and it will bring up the HP Printer Assistant. 2. Under the Scan menu, there is a “Manage Scan to Computer”, click on that.
Try these steps:
- Open Control Panel, go to Devices and Printers section.
- Right click on your printer and select Create shortcut.
- Windows couldn't create a shortcut in Control Panel, hence its asks you to create a shortcut at Desktop instead.
- Go to Desktop and you'll find the printer icon/shortcut there.
Hope this helps! Keep me posted.
