Hi,
I try to connect my Multifunction printer (HP OfficeJetPro 8620) to a network folder on my MacBook Pro (macOS BigSur 11.7) as described from HP user manual but without success. Maybe you can help me.
My printer is connected to the Router on cable (LAN4). And I connect to my network from Mac via WiFi.
I can print very well, scan to e-mail and scan from the device when I open HP Easy scan too.
But I can't configure a network folder .... 😕😡
- I have a folder named "Scanner".
- In the System preferences, Share, Option, the SMB sharing is on for my User (Administrator) with my system access password.
- In System preferences, Share I have check "Files" from the right menu then, in the list of folders, my folder "Scanner" (where I am the Administrator and have permission read/write).
- In the HP Utility HP OfficeJetPro 8620 I go under "Scan to network folder" i press on "Register network folder".
- The Embedded Web Server opens. I login with my user name/password.
- I go under "Scan" tab, then "Scan on the network folder" on the left menu.
- I select "Configure network folder" then I "add a new folder" with the follow item:
- Display name: Scanner
- Network path: \\192.168.1.22\Scanner (Note: the IP Address is this one of the printer, displayed in the device configurations)
- I put in a PIN code
- I put in username: firstnamelastname
- I have a doubt about that because on the system access panel is displayed Firstname Lastname (for example Pinco Pallino).
The username I have used here is the name of my user (for example pincopallino)... is that OK?? For other application it does run...
- I have a doubt about that because on the system access panel is displayed Firstname Lastname (for example Pinco Pallino).
- I put in my password: ***** (this I use to access my mac)
- Then I select the scan option that I will (the standards)
- Save and test
Result are: Unable to connect the printer. Check configurations and retry.
Where I fail??
It is possible that depend on router configurations too?
Thank you for further help!
David 😀
