Hello Community,

When I scan a document with HP Scan, the file date is correct under the file properties, but when I open the scanned document with Firefox, Chrome or Adobe Reader, it shows me an incorrect date (10 hours forward) under the document properties. See also screenshot. Testscan.PNG

I could already reproduce this with several devices at different locations.

Since I can not write directly to HP support, I would like to ask you to help me.

I think it is possibly a bug in the software and maybe there is already a solution or a workaround.

Unfortunately, I could not find anything in my search so far.

If you have a HP device please test it and give feedback.

Hi,

I can see what you are talking about, where the PDF Metadata time is incorrect, I can see the same behavior too while testing with my printer, will share this with HP.

A possible workaround I could find with HP Scan would be using iHQC compression for the PDF:

  1. Open HP Scan and select Save as PDF.
  2. Click on More >
  3. Click Destination.
  4. Click the File Type drop-down menu
  5. Check the box next to Use iHQC Compression.
  6. Click the disk icon to save the scan shortcut and try scanning again, as I can see from my testing only the Creation date is stored and correctly:

Another possible workaround would be scanning using other scanning app as HP Smart, which do not store any Metadata timing information with the file:

Another alternative would be to use another scanning application, as an example you may try the 3rd party NAPS2 application:

Hello Shlomi,

thank you for your quick reply.

unfortunately I don't have the option "Use iHQC Compression".

For scanning with HP Smart, you then only need the Base-driver and HP Smart?

thanks also for the tip with NAPS2, looks interesting.

if you share this with HP can you give me a link or feedback?
I would be interested in the answer and a possible solution from HP.

With kind regards
