Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Hello. I have an HP Inktank 410 series that prints fast but takes nearly two minutes to make either a color or black and white copy. (the scanning element crawls very slowly when copying but is fast when scanning) It copied much faster when I first purchased it. (My old inkjet copies virtually instantly.) Any ideas how to restore copy speed on the 410? Thanks.

@warrenab, Welcome to the HP Support Community! I’m here to help.

 

I understand the printer takes too long to make a copy. Let us try these steps:

 

Reset the printer

  1. With the printer turned on, disconnect the power cord from the rear of the printer.
  2. Wait at least 60 seconds.
  3. Reconnect the power cord to the rear of the printer.
  4. Turn ON the printer, if it does not automatically turn on.
  5. Wait until the printer is idle and silent before you proceed.

Note: HP recommends connecting the printer directly to a wall outlet rather than a surge protector or a power strip.

 

Update the printer firmware

Click here to download and install the latest printer firmware from your computer.

Click here to know different methods of updating printer firmware.

 

Now, try making a copy of a regular document.
