Hello,

If I'm initiating a scan from Win 10 at a higher DPI than the default profiles' 200, I use a saved scan profile. Now I'm trying to initiate from the scanner at higher DPI as well. Is it possible?

Have you had any luck initiating a scan from the control panel on the 8028 at a specified DPI, or editing the defaults for the onboard scan profiles?

Here's the problem: I need to scan photos at 300+ DPI to a computer in a different room, or permanently move the printer. I'd prefer not to move the printer.

Hi @LetsFixThis

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you.

I assume the printer is connected wirelessly to the PC and a full-featured printer driver is installed from the HP Support site.

Scanning in higher resolutions is only supported by the flatbed glass.

Open the printer assistant on the PC

Set the source as flatbed

"More" > Image > resolution.

undefined

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Hi Kumar,

Yes, full Windows 10 HP software package is installed and up to date. Wifi connection.

When I start a scan from HP Smart, I can set the scan for 300 DPI from the Document Feeder (Doc Feeder up to 300, Flatbed up to 1200) and start the scan from the software.

When I start the scan from the scanner, there are a few scan profiles to choose but they all default to 150 DPI and it seems there is no way to change this from the scanner's console?

Thanks,

Rod

You will have to use the app or the full-featured software to achieve this. If you are trying to 'scan to computer' from the printer control panel, you may use the full-featured software to change the settings.

Open HP printer assistant on the PC > Scan > Scan to computer > Edit settings.

Let me know how this goes.
