Hi folks. I would like to replace my trusty but old HP OfficeJet Pro 8625 all-in-one. A feature I liked *so* very much was the automatic duplex scanning from ADF. I liked the ability to stack a bunch of papers into the ADF and just tell the printer to process all there is on them.
I would now like to find a comparable LaserJet to buy. Comparable, in this case, means similar form factor and feature set.
I understand that HP LaserJet M283cdw has practically all the features *except* auto-duplex scanning. (And of course it's a laser printer not an inkjet.)
Now for a question: is there a LaserJet with form factor similar to M283cdw that does auto-duplex scanning?
I know that large office printers have duplex scanning, but I can't fit that form factor into my home, nor do I need the horsepower. What to do?

No, this is the next Laserjet printer level to support duplex scanning indeed, any such printers are commercial laser printers which are less compact and intended for commercial usage.
Other than this option, I suggest considering an inkjet, the 9025 model is much more compact and provide single-pass scanning of both sides:
