I am trying to scan a very large document and I've run into a problem with the program freezing and giving me an error that something was wrong with the scanner and the printer needs to be restarted. I was just wondering if there were a maximum number of pages that I can scan into one document. Or, do I need to break it into separate documents?

Where do you scan to (computer or something else) ? The only thing I can think of is file size and/or memory on your printer. Scanning high resolution will make the file bigger.
Please check a small sample to see how big the file is then work out how many pages you can scan to a 256MB of storage.
Regards.

Also, please be aware and consider the feeder hardware which supports up to 35 pages, do not load more originals than you should in a single batch:
