I scan the document to a PDF file and hit share or copy. The file opens with information but will show up with error as file empty. Is this an email issue or file to scan

I am not sure what is happening to you.  Please read this discussion by @Dragon-Fur

I am guessing that you shared a scan and the recipient opened a file but the attachment was empty.  Typically the ISP, either sender of the recipient's has filtering and it blocked the PDF.  Both DOCXs and  PDFs can have malicious macros and may be blocked.  Also the mail application (outlook, thunderbird, apple) may block the attachment.

l have to zip up my PDFs and DOCX and then rename the .zip to .hex or .bin as my AT&T also blocks zip files.
