To download and install the scanner drivers for your HP LaserJet Pro 400 MFP 425dn on a 32-bit operating system, follow these steps.

 

Uninstall Any Existing Drivers

  • If you've installed any partial drivers that aren't working properly, it might be a good idea to uninstall them first. Go to Control Panel > Programs and Features, find the HP software, and uninstall it.

Download the Correct Drivers

  • Visit the HP Software and Driver Downloads website.
  • Enter your printer model (HP LaserJet Pro 400 MFP 425dn) and select your operating system (32-bit).
  • Look for the "Full Feature Software and Drivers" package. This package includes both the printer and scanner drivers.

Install the Drivers

  • Download the Full Feature Software and Drivers package.
  • Once the download is complete, open the installer and follow the on-screen instructions to install the software.
  • During installation, ensure that the scanner drivers are selected.

Check the Scanner Functionality

  • After installation, check if the scanner is working. You can use HP Scan or another scanning software.
  • You can also test the scanner using Windows Fax and Scan:
    • Open Start and search for "Windows Fax and Scan."
    • Select New Scan and choose your HP LaserJet Pro 400 MFP 425dn.

Update Firmware (Optional)

  • Sometimes updating the printer's firmware can resolve driver issues. Check the HP website for any firmware updates available for your printer model.
