I'm using the HP Printer Assistant App to scan documents.
When I use the Document Feeder, thin vertical lines are added to the scanned image.
No lines are added if I don't use the document feeder.
Is there a solution?

Look at slot #3 for paper/dirt.
Often a piece of paper will get caught in slot #3....

The description of the problem sounds like the printer ADF needs attention (cleaning / maintenance).
If the dirt is on the outside..
Use a flashlight (torch in the UK); shine the light at an angle along the glass.
Clean, clean, clean.
Use a tiny brush to sweep all along the edges of the glass.
