M281fdw "Failed to open a connection to the device (-21345)"

Recently I cannot scan using wireless. When trying to scan using "System Preferences " -> "Printers & Scanners" -> Scan I get the error: "Failed to open a connection to the device (-21345)"

Printer is perfectly connected to network and all computers on the same network. My wife can scan from her laptop (also Mac OSX).

I have:

1) Removed all printers and reinstalled

2) Downloaded new drivers: v5.1 (https://support.apple.com/kb/dl1888?locale=en_US)

3) Reinstalled printer using AirPrint 

4) Restarted computer, Restarted printer

Nothing has helped... Screenshot of error

Hi,

Please follow below version of HP Easy Start, as soon as it launches open the top HP Easy Start menu and select Uninstall HP Software.

Follow the steps on screen and then click on Set Up New Device and follow the steps to reinstall the printer:

Many thanks for your quick reply. 

The "HP easy start" just leads to an installation of HP SMART. Tried to download the drivers, but same thing - it just leads to a place for downloading and installing HP SMART.

I installed HP SMART  - and I can indeed scan using the HP SMART software. However, I still have error -21345 when trying to scan through the mac software ( Preferenes -> Printers -> Scan ).. ??
