M28W not showing scan if paper contains printed characters?!

Title says all. When I scan some images, drawing, etc, "HP Scan" works OK.

However, when I put a document into the flatbed, "HP Scan" does the scanning, and then comes back with an empty screen.

Here is how it looks like when I scan some random stuff (ruler):

1. Select "Save as PDF" (Item Type=Document)

2. Wait for scanning

3. See the result

Now let's see with a printed Word document:

1. Select "Save as PDF" (Item Type=Document but makes no difference if I change this to image)

2. Wait for the scanner to finish

3. See the result:

As you can see NOTHING is displayed here. Scanner obviously works (hardware-wise), as it could scan back images.

What's going on here?

Thank you, but your suggestion makes absolutely no difference.

HP, I'm still waiting for your solution on how can I scan with your scanner.
