LaserJet Pro MFP M426fdn
Microsoft Windows Server 2008 (64-bit)

Hi All!

I have a head-scratcher here with a brand new M426fdn all-in-one being unable to scan to email.  I have a network full of slightly older HP all-in-ones (MFP 577dw, M375nw) scanning to email without issue, but this one refuses, giving me only the generic message, "An error occurred while sending the email. Try sending again."  What's weird is that, in the EWS Outgoing E-Mail Profile config screen, when I test the setup, it always succeeds.  However, when I attempt to scan to email on the unit itself, it always fails.  In addition, when I run the 'SMTP Comm. Report' from the printer control panel, the report generates a successful test email and informs me, "Congratulations!  The settings you have configured are correct."  However, scan to email continues to fail.  Is there perhaps some kind of error log detailing these kinds of failures that can give me a little more detail other than "An error occurred"?

Thanks!

Hi CoastalDave,

We are experiencing the exact same issue with an M477fdw we just purchased.

Did you ever get to the bottom of this?

Thanks.

DNS settings were fine, issue was resolved by installing our internal CA Certificate on the printer.
