I can scan docs. but no ability to save them. Have unplugged, rebooted & updated firmware to no avail.

First step:

  • for w Serie
    download only HP LaserJet Pro MFP M28w/M29w/M30w/M31w Printer Full Software Solution 
    File name: Full_Webpack-46.5.2645-LJM28-M31_UWL_Full_Webpack.exe (144.8 MB)

  • or

  • for a Serie or for without letter Serie
    download only HP LaserJet Pro MFP M28/M29/M30a Printer Full Software Solution 
    File name: Full_Webpack-46.5.2645-LJM28-M31_U_Full_Webpack.exe (144.8 MB)

  • check, Product Part Numbers:
    Product Specifications for the HP LaserJet Pro MFP M28w Printer (W2G55A)
    Product Specifications for the HP LaserJet Pro MFP M31w (Y5S55A)
    Product Specifications for the HP LaserJet Pro MFP M29a Printer (W2G56A)

Here's what you need to do:

  1. Uninstall HP printer software, and then remove the printer from your Devices list. 
  2. Restart the PC
  3. Close all programs
  4. Open up the run command with the "Windows Key + R" key combo > in folder Downloads double-click on the EXE, depending on your printer, part number.
  5. The installation was completed successfully, now you must ...
  6. Restart the PC again
  7. Now the installation is complete.
  8. and now the next step

  9. Open up the run command with the "Windows Key + R" key combo > in folder Downloads double-click on the File name: Full_Webpack-51.9.5975-SJ0001_Full_Webpack.exe (411.2 MB)
  10. The installation was completed successfully, now you must ...
  11. Restart the PC again
  12. Now the installation is complete.

Document error messages accurately, even better is to take a screenshot of it and upload here.
