- I managed to successfully create a shared folder in my computer
- I successfully registered the shared folder with the printer using the web-based configuration in the "Scan" tab; "Network folder configuration" section. When I ncluded the path of the folder, password, etc and after clicking on "save and test" the test is successful, so the printer seems to communicate with the computer and "find" the folder without issues.
However, after I managed to scan couple of pages, I have not been able to scan anymore. The screen of the printer says the following message "Cannot write to [folder path]. Destination folder is read-only, has the wrong permissions, or is no longer available"
Any ideas as to what can I do?

If you attempt to scan at 75 dpi will it work and anything results in the error?

Hi,
Follow below firmware update utility to update the printer and then check for any difference while scanning to a network folder shared from a Mac:
Please let me know how it goes,

Interesting. It does work at 75 dpi, but not at any other of the higher resolutions. How can I make it work at resolutions higher
than 75 dpi?
I also have a MFP M277dw, and it also has the same issue (it works only at 75 dpi).
Thanks!

I installed the firmware suggested. Problem is fixed. Appreciate your help with solving this. Thanks very much.
However, I would like for you to please communicate to HP and to whoever is in charged of marketing, the great dissapointment I have as a customer for couple of reasons:
1) The inconvenience this created and how HP is handling this issue. I have spent at least 1.5 full days trying to figure out how to solve this problem, and it wasn't until I got in contact with you and after downloading a special firmware that I was able to fix it. All this should be transparent for the customer. Once I take the printer out of the box and plug it in, is should be ready to work as advertised, and unfortunately, it is not.
2) HP's advertising is misleading. For all practical purposes my printers (I have both a M277 and M281, which I just bought because buying the tonner for the M277 costs the same as a new M281) were not able to scan to folder, period, which is one of the features of these devices. So it is deceiving to say that the printer is able to scan to folder when it is not (at least on high resolutions).
Thanks again, and appreciate your help.
