MFP M776
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have installed a new MFP M776 and I'm setting up the scan to folder option.  When I connect to the device from my browser, I have configured a quickset with the computer share name and the credentials needed to save to the share.  It tests out fine.

When I walk up to the printer and try to use the scan to folder, I am prompted to enter the username/password for the share.  This info is saved in the quick set in the browser, but when interacting with the device directly, I still have to enter the username and password.

What I need is for users to walk up to the device, use the scan to folder and NOT have to enter creds.  I need the creds saved in the device or quick set.

For the life of me, I can't seem to figure this one out.

Any help would be appreciated.

The scan to folder quicksets are pretty straight forward, you should only have to ensure that when you create the quickset you have always use these credentials on the screen where you enter the path and credentials for scanning

Also ensure that on the security tab in the EWS, under access control you do not require a login to access scan to folder features. If you have click off guest user access to scan to folder this would trigger a credentials prompt

One other clarification: when you are trying to scan, you are going to the quickset tab and then selecting the quickset you created and not just clicking on the scan to folder button.

ok, so that pointed me in the direction I needed, but one clarification.  I DO NOT want users prompted for username/password when scanning to folder and I HAVE saved creds for the scan to folder quickset.

in the security tab, under user access control, the part you have circled, do I want a check in there or not?

And on another note, I completed the quickset and then drug it straight to the home screen so my users don't have to hit quick sets and then click scan to folder, they can just hit the quick set right from the home screen.

And thank you for your assistance.

Unchecking guest access will actually force users to have to login to the machine itself.
