I gave them an outline for the fix on a silver platter back in March (and worked around it on the server end).   I'm surprised nobody has forwarded it to their engineers.

I wouldn't know how to fix it, but I understood your post entirely.  That's how I knew it was time for me to quit chasing the snake through the bushes, so to speak.  Thanks, anyway.

It really is time that HP sorted this problem out. Can someone at HP tell us what is happening to produce a viable solution that allows us to scan at normal and high resolution directly from the mfw to our designated scan folder? Silence makes us think that HP just can't be bothered to deal with this feature which they have removed through ineptitude. Come on HP.

Hi Flower_Bud,

Thanks for your offer to help.  However, I couldn't find the blue envelope.  I only have a grey envelope.  Please instruct.

Thanks

Thanks for getting back to us.

I have sent you the private message now and you should be able to see the blue envelope.

Hope that helps!

I am amazed that there has been NO RESPONSE by HP to this serious issue. It will damage their credibility if this persists.

What part of Customer and Product support are they not understanding?

PLEASE DO SOMETHING ABOUT THE FIRMWARE COMPATIBILITY ISSUES - AND LET US KNOW WHEN A SOLUTION IS LIKELY TO BE AVAILABLE.

Just want to bump this matter to the top again.

Is there ANY news, HP Support?

Dear All,

HP Hong Kong provided me with a firmware update on 20 Sep 2018.  Its version is 20180321 and is .exe version.

I installed it under Windows 10 environment and then test the "Scan to Network Folder" under Mac environment.  It works for resolution higher than 75dpi, for both OSX 10.13 (High Sierra) and 10.14 (Mojave).  (HP Easy Start for 10.14 has been released officially).   I tested 600 dpi and it works without problem.  I haven't checked if it is available at HP official website, but even there is, special CAUTION has to be taken:

According to the HP Hong Kong support guy, this firmware has been released for a while but MAY NOT suitable for some batches of MFP M277 and can cause serious/fatal problem if it's not suitable.  So they won't publish it publicly .  Care must be taken, and hence I  decided not to attach it here for downloading.

You guys should contact your regional HP support and discuss the case, and let them decide if such firmware or others can help you.

p.s.  I learn at another HP forum that one guy tested version 20180321 but ".dmg version" didn't work for him.    Mine is ".exe version" and it works for my M277 printer.

Rgds.

Marco
