Hello,

the scan-function with HP Smart (18.0.1) using the following equipment is not working (printing is working fine):

Mac Mini M4 OS Sequoia 15.3.1

HP Laserjet 1212nf MFP

The app Easy Scan (2.0.0) crashes when opening.

When I want to install the up-dated printer driver (Mac Printer Driver 5.1), I get the message "update requires Mac OS 15.0 or older".

Has anyone a solution to this problem?

Thanks, WE

Hi @WE8057

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for posting your query! We're here to help you get back up and running.

It seems like the scanning functionality of your HP LaserJet 1212MFP is not working with macOS Sequoia 15.3.1. This could be due to compatibility issues or outdated drivers.

Here are some steps you can try to resolve the problem:

Update Printer Drivers:

Visit the HP Support website and check if there are updated drivers compatible with macOS Sequoia 15.3.1.

If no drivers are available for this version, you may need to use the built-in AirPrint feature.

Enable Permissions:

Go to "System Settings" > "Privacy & Security" > "Local Network."

Ensure that permissions for "HP Device Monitor," "HP Scanner 3," and "HP Utility" are toggled ON. This has resolved similar issues for other users.

Use Image Capture:

Open the "Image Capture" app on your Mac.

Select your scanner from the list of devices and try scanning. If you encounter an error, it might indicate a deeper compatibility issue.

HP Smart App:

Download and install the HP Smart app from the HP website or the Mac App Store. This app often provides better compatibility with newer macOS versions.

Firmware Update:

HP regularly releases new firmware versions for printer enhancements, app updates, or issue fixes. Update the firmware regularly to get the most out of your printer.
