Hi,

I also have the problem that HP Easy Scan is not working properly after installing Mac OS Catalina.

By when will the new version be available and where? In the App Store?

The workaround with the Apple scan tool is a hazzle as no OCR is included there.

What does "should" mean? If you don't know, then why reply in the first place? The only answers of value to the community are "Yes, and you can find it here XXXXX," or "No, but it's in development and will be released on XXXX." I think we all agree there "should" be a version compatible with Catalina. The best time to release it would have been before Catalina was released.

I've updated the software for my HP5220 and HP Easy Scan this morning. The update now allows me to scan from the HP 5220, but the Easy Scan app still doesn't work, with the old error message about the doc federer not being loaded. Yes, I can use Apple scan, but that sort of defeats the purpose of the Easy Scan?

The problem isn't Apple. It's Easy Scan and its parent, HP. When they started their piece of shareware, which is when they stopped actually being an "all-in-one" device, they knew full well that Apple updated to new OSs regularly. So, they apparently walked away from the job, or their parent company, HP, decided that Apple users were not a large enough bunch of people to bother with.


A company should be able to accommodate their base. Their base which expects responsible behavior from them.

 

The way to treat customers is NOT to walk away from them when there is a new OS. And not bothering to inform those customers is a sign of HP's disrespect of a large piece of their customer base.


I will be buying another brand of computer Saturday, after 15 years of buying only HP devices.

HP have you solved this issue yet?  This OS has been out to consumers for 4 months and out in Developers for overt 6 months.  I think you have had plenty of time to update HP Easy Scan or HP Scan.

HP issued an update to HP Easy Scan for macOS 10.15. But after installing the update (here), I still can not scan using HP Easy Scan. Why push out an update for the OS if the update won't fix scanning issues with HP Easy Scan.

It has been several months since Catalina and the immediate problem with Easy Scan not working. A couple of comments from HP that you’re working on it. But thus far, no progress and from what I can see, no informations as to when it will be fixed.
