My HP OfficeJet 8720 will not scan to computer.

I am constantly having problems with this All in one piece of ........!! It now won't scan to computer. On the screen my computer is there and i can print from the PC but it says it can't connect to the PC when trying to scan. It won't do scan to e-mail either. I have tried the HP App and when i try to download or install the app it says it needs to update it. I try, then the page says I already have it. So.................... Round and round in circles. I deleted everything HP off my  PC and went to download and install it again but it says i own the app but won't install it. I have used the HP doctor app and it sends me back to the above aforementioned. I am sooooo over constantly having troubles with this printer/scanner. When it works....it works well....but when it doesn't i just want to smash it. No help anywhere.

At this stage I can print from PC but I can't scan.

Wireless connection is obviously working.

The Doctor App tells me I have 2 of the same printer...but i don't.

Are you able to copy?

Let's try to do a root uninstall and reinstall of the software:

Unplug any USB cable, if any, before doing this.

1.) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features

2.) Select your HP Printer

3.) Select Uninstall

4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers

5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose 'Delete' or 'Remove Device'

6.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.

7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)

8.) Click on the "Drivers" tab

9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom

10.) Select Ok

11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows

12.) Close Devices and Printers

13.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo

14.) Type c:/programdata and click Ok. Go to Hewlett Packard folder, remove any printer related folders & files.

15.) Restart the computer.
