HP OfficeJet Pro 9125e All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 11

My HP OfficeJet Pro 9120e produces HEAVY STRIPES on scanned images and on copies. There are NO stripes on printed documents. Diagnosis states that no issues were found. All glass surfaces are clean. Estimated ink levels are at least 50%. Alignment is at default settings.

@Ebo89, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you're seeing heavy stripes on scanned images and copies, but not on printed documents with your HP OfficeJet Pro 9125e. Since the issue only affects scans and copies, it's likely related to the scanner hardware or settings, not the print system.

Here are some steps to help resolve this:

Clean the Scanner Glass and ADF Strip Thoroughly

Even if the glass looks clean, tiny smudges or debris on the scanner glass or ADF (Automatic Document Feeder) strip can cause stripes.

  1. Turn off the printer and unplug it.
  2. Open the scanner lid.
  3. Clean:
    • The main scanner glass.
    • The small glass strip to the left (used for ADF scanning).
    • The white underside of the scanner lid.
  4. Use a lint-free cloth slightly dampened with glass cleaner. Avoid spraying directly on the glass.

Try Scanning from the Flatbed vs. ADF

  • If the stripes only appear when using the ADF, the issue is likely with the ADF strip.
  • If they appear even when scanning from the flatbed, the issue may be with the scanner sensor.

Update Firmware and Drivers

Outdated firmware or drivers can cause scanning issues.

  1. Go to the HP Software and Driver Downloads.
  2. Enter your printer model: HP OfficeJet Pro 9125e.
  3. Download and install the latest firmware and full feature software for Windows 11.

Reset the Printer

Sometimes a simple reset can clear up hardware glitches.

  1. With the printer on, unplug the power cord from the back.
  2. Wait 60 seconds.
  3. Plug it back in and turn it on.

If none of the above steps resolve the issue, the scanner light or sensor may be faulty. In that case, we suggest you please visit the nearest HP authorized service center, the service team will check and assist you.
