HP DeskJet 4155e All-in-One Printer

I was trying to use the scan and my computer HP All In One was unable to locate the scanner. I have a wireless connection. When I set up the printer, I overlook setting up the scanner...and now I don't know how to set it up. Thanks for any help.

Hi @BOJET,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

To set up the scanner on your HP DeskJet 4155e printer, follow these steps.

  • Check Printer Connection: Ensure that your HP DeskJet 4155e printer is connected to the same wireless network as your HP All-In-One desktop PC.
  • Install HP Smart App (if not installed): If you haven't already, download and install the HP Smart app on your HP All-In-One desktop PC. You can get it from the Microsoft Store or HP's official website.
  • Open HP Smart App: Launch the HP Smart app on your desktop PC.
  • Add Printer: If your printer is not already added, click on the "+" sign to add your HP DeskJet 4155e printer to the HP Smart app. Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup.
  • Access Scanner: Once your printer is added, navigate to the app's main screen. Look for an option like "Scan" or "Scanner" (this may vary slightly depending on the app version).
  • Follow Prompts: Follow the prompts to initiate a scan. The app should automatically detect and connect to your HP DeskJet 4155e scanner if it's properly set up on the network.
  • Scan from Desktop PC: You can now scan documents or photos directly from your HP All-In-One desktop PC using the HP Smart app. Select the desired scan settings and save the scanned files to your computer.

If your scanner still isn't detected after following these steps, you may need to check the printer's network settings, ensure it's connected to Wi-Fi, and restart both the printer and your desktop PC. If issues persist, updating the HP Smart app or reinstalling it might also help resolve connectivity problems.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
