We would like to share some of the most frequently asked questions about HP Solution Center not working : Adobe Flash Player Error and Unable to Scan.

HP DeskJet 2724 All-in-One Printer

HP DeskJet 2724 prints fine but my Mobile Fax fails; gives an error that says something went wrong before sending the fax. I have logged out, Using Windows 11 Pro version. I have already rebooted printer, removed the personalized Mobile Fax tile and toggled back on. None of these solutions work. I last successfully used Mobile Fax 6 months ago. Mobile Fax app on Android gives the same error.

Oh, and HP support person gave up after 45 minutes and said since my printer is out of warranty the best solution is to just buy another printer!  What?!

I understand how frustrating it must be when Mobile Fax fails with the error “Something went wrong before sending the fax”, especially when everything else like printing works fine. Let's work through this together, no need to buy a new printer just yet!

Update the HP Smart App

Ensure you're using the latest version of the HP Smart app on both Windows 11 and Android:

Sign Out and Back In

You mentioned you've logged out, but try this sequence:

  • Sign out of HP Smart on all devices.
  • Restart your devices (PC and phone).
  • Sign back in with your HP account.

Check Internet and Firewall Settings

  • Ensure your PC and printer are on a stable internet connection.
  • Temporarily disable any firewall or antivirus that might block the HP Smart app.
  • If using a VPN, try disabling it and test again.

Clear HP Smart App Cache (Android)

On Android:

  • Go to Settings > Apps > HP Smart > Storage.
  • Tap Clear Cache and Clear Data.
  • Reopen the app and sign in again.

Reset Fax Settings in HP Smart

  • Open HP Smart > Click on Mobile Fax.
  • Remove the tile again.
  • Re-add it and go through the setup process.
  • Try sending a test fax.
