Hi,
My all-in-one HP photosmart b109a does not scan with Windows 11.
I am not able to find working scanner drivers. (neither on HP and Microsoft websites)
HP Scan Doctor does not solve the problem (VueScan neither).
printing works well
I had no issues printing and scanning with windows 10
does anyone know how i could solve this problem?
Thanks!

After trying several not-working solutions, I finally I found a working driver for Windows 11!
On this website :
https://printerdrivers.com/hp-photosmart-b109a-driver/
I am now able to print and scan with my device.
I hope this could help others facing the same problem.

Welcome to the HP Support Community.
Let's try to do a root uninstall and reinstall of the software:
Unplug any USB cable, if any, before doing this.
1.) In Windows, search for and open Programs and features
2.) Select your HP Printer
3.) Select Uninstall
4.) In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers
5.) In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose 'Delete' or 'Remove Device'
6.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo.
7.) Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)
8.) Click on the "Drivers" tab
9.) Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom
10.) Select Ok
11.) Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows
12.) Close Devices and Printers
13.) Open up the run command with the "Windows key + R" key combo
14.) Type c:/programdata and click Ok. Go to Hewlett Packard folder, remove any printer related folders & files.
15.) Restart the computer.
Once done, please download and install the software from here:

Hi Betty,
Thank you for your answer.
I tried all the steps you mentioned but unfortunately nothing works.
I am still not able to use the scan function (printing works well).
It appears that there are no working scanner drivers available for Windows 11.
With my old windows 10 laptop I had no issues. I also tried different OS compatibility modi but nothing makes my HP Photosmart B109a working.
If I am forced this way to buy a new printer/scanner it definitely will NOT be a HP-product again.
Anyway, thank you for your time.
I hope there might be a working driver somewhere... and someone could point me in the right direction.
Regards,
Youca
