Hello,

I'm using a Photosmart Premium 309g all-in-one printer that I've had for a few years.  The printer/scanner/copier worked fine with my old MacBook Pro.  However, I just had to replace my MacBook and I'm dealing with setting up my new one.  It has no USB port so I can't directly connect it to the printer, so I'm doing everything via Bluetooth.  I can print documents, no problem.  But when I go to scan a document, either by using Image Capture (which is the way I used to do it) or with the HP Easy Scan App, it doesn't see any scanner to use.

 

I hope some kind, smart soul here can help!

Hello,

In order to mitigate this incident, please follow the following procedure:

  1. Download, and then install the latest update to HP Printer Drivers v5.1 for OS X.
  2. Click the Apple (clipboard_image_0.png) menu, and then click System Preferences.
  3. Click Printers and Scanners, and then click the plus sign (+) at the bottom of the left pane. The Add window opens.
  4. In the Add window, select your printer under Name.
  5. In the Use field, please scroll down the list to choose Select driver manually, then in the search box type c309, select HP Photosmart Premium c309 series and confirm.
  6. Click Add.
  7. Try to print.

Hi,

Bluetooth. connectivity with a printer only allows printing, scanning cannot be done through such connection to the printer.

 

You may connect the printer and your Mac to a wireless network and install the printer wirelessly instead:

Next, you may also install and use HP Easy Scan from the Mac App Store:
