Hi @ESRadelaide,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

If your HP printer is running slowly despite trying various suggested solutions, here are some additional steps you might consider to diagnose and potentially solve the problem:

1. Check Printer Settings

  • Print Quality: High-resolution settings use more ink and take longer to print. Adjust the print quality settings to a lower resolution for everyday printing tasks. Look for settings like “Draft” or “Standard” quality in the printer preferences.
  • Paper Type: Ensure the paper type setting matches what you're using. Incorrect settings can slow down printing.

2. Update or Reinstall Printer Drivers

  • Update Drivers: Ensure your printer's drivers are up to date. Visit the HP website, search for your printer model (HP HP57540), and download the latest drivers.
  • Reinstall Drivers: Sometimes, corrupt printer drivers can cause slow printing. Uninstall the current printer driver, download the latest version from the HP official site, and reinstall it.

3. Check Network Connection

  • Wi-Fi: If your printer is connected via Wi-Fi, ensure it has a strong signal. Weak Wi-Fi signals can slow down printing significantly.
  • Ethernet: If possible, connect the printer via an Ethernet cable to ensure a faster and more stable connection than Wi-Fi.

4. Clear the Print Queue

  • Sometimes a stuck print job can cause the printer to slow down. Clear out the print queue:
    • Go to “Devices and Printers” in your Control Panel.
    • Right-click on your HP printer and select “See what's printing”.
    • From the menu, select “Cancel All Documents”.

5. Printer Memory

  • If your printer handles large documents or graphics, it might be running out of memory. If your printer model supports it, consider upgrading the printer’s memory.

6. Check for Firmware Updates

  • Just like software, printers also receive firmware updates. Check on HP’s website or through the HP support application to see if there are any firmware updates available for your printer model.

7. Reduce Print Resolution for Large Documents

  • When printing large documents, especially those with graphics, reducing the resolution can speed up the printing process.

8. Inspect for Hardware Issues

  • Ensure there are no hardware issues with the printer. Look for any signs of damage or wear, and check if the printer is clean and free of jams.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

What sort of documents?

How are you connecting to the printer? USB or Network?

Stating "I have tried solutions" tells me nothing and will likely result in me giving you the same suggestions. What exactly have you tried? Is this a new problem? Has the device performed properly in the past?
