I have an Hp Pagewide Pro 577 MFP and a HP Officejet Pro x476dw on my network. Frequently, I'm getting an Network error on both when the users Scan to Email. I can unplug them and power them back on and the Scan to Email works fine. I've looked at each configuration and don't see anything wrong with it. But it's strange that 2 separate models are doing the same thing and can quick fix the same way. Has anyone had this issue out there?

Hi,
I would rather suspect any connectivity issue, affecting both printers which are likely connecting through the same network.
Are the printer connected wirelessly or via Ethernet?

Thanks,
Are the printers connected directly to your router, or may be connected to any other component such as a hub pr switch?
Try connecting the printer directly to the router and test, in case they are connected to any other device.
Also, under Network, locate the DNS setting, it should be under Network Identification or under IPv4, try setting a manual DNS of 8.8.8.8 (primary), and 8.8.4.4 (secondary) and check if you may see any difference while using Goog;e's public DNS servers.

I'll try the DNS settings first to see if the issue continues before doing the the router connect. Curious to know, if you're thinking it could be switch config issue with your suggestion on bypassing the switches?

Sure, it can be any switch configuration issue, as well as connectivity issue, this way you may isolate the problem.
It can be a problem with the ethernet cable connecting the switch to the router is common for both printers, a port problem, or with either the port on your switch or on your router, those all are common for both printer, it may also be any configuration related issue.
Therefore, by connecting to the router it allows troubleshooting to deny possible causes, by isolating the problem you may have a more clear answer than possible causes.

It's strange to me that all the other functions like printing and even scan to computer works fine with both printers. I've also noticed that it works with 1 or 2 page scans but not more. So the function is working to a point just not consistently. Would think if it was a bad port or cable, will all other functions still work fine? I keep looking back at the config of the scan to email and not seeing an issue with it, being that it works some of the time but not all. Just thinking out loud via post. 🙂
