We recently purchased an Officejet Pro 9015e for our small office. There are two of us, on opposite ends of the room, with the printer on a credenza against the wall between our desks.
The issue we're having is... many.
It won't scan or copy from the document feeder unless we're using the HP Smart. Going back and forth from our computer to the printer is cumbersome.
It won't scan multiple pages without using HP Smart.
It won't save scans as pdf without using HP Smart.
I can't find the fax history, but that may be a personal issue. Just one that popped up this morning. We've had it for a week and, as I mentioned before, everything required HP Smart to function as a regular All-In-One but constantly walking around our desks and back and forth from our computer to the printer is extremely cumbersome. Not to mention EVERY OTHER PAGE scans UPSIDE DOWN using HP Smart. And one of the pages would NOT flip right side up no matter how many times we opened Edit and flipped it.
How do we get out Scanner/Printer to work like an actual scanner printer?!
We only bought a new one because EVERYONE seemed to be having issues with the model we were using before and printing cyan. So we moved it to the warehouse for our supervisor to print in Black only.

Hi,
Please follow HP Easy Start below, during the Software Selection screen be sure to select the HP Basic Driver or Full Feature Driver option:
https://ftp.hp.com/pub/softlib/software13/printers/HPEasyStart/Win10/HPEasyStart_13_5_8.exe
Once completing the installation, open the HP Software and click on Scan > Manage Scan to Computer, ensure the feature is enabled and that you select the EXACT same computer name as listed by this dialog (without any added word), then you would be able to scan from the printer screen by using the HP Software, including PDF or ADF scanning.

Thank you for that information. I HOPE it works. The problem is, I've gotten to a point in the installation where it requires a username and password to authenticate. The username is already set as admin without being able to edit... but I never set up a username or password in the first place. I've tried the PIN, the serial number, I've tried to leave it blank and it will definitely NOT accept that. I am completely lost.

Can you include a screenshot of the screen please?
Do you have full administration rights on your computer? Just to make sure it doesn’t ask for admin credentials on your PC.

Hello. Yes, I have admin rights. I hit cancel and it worked though. It did NOT work on my boss' computer. In fact, it took us and her two days to get it to work at ALL after I figured it out on my computer. Hers just stopped working. Whatever we did, it's working now on both computers for scanning and printing. Thanks.
