Just upgraded to Mac OS Tahoe 26.0 and Hp scanner can't scan to computer. I can do it from my Mac to the scanner using HP Easy Scan, but not from the printer / scanner front panel as I used to. The message "No Computer Found" pops up when I try to scan to computer.

@JohnG56, Welcome to HP Support Community,
Thank you for posting your query; I’m here to help by guiding you through steps to resolve this issue
The issue you're experiencing is related to a known connectivity problem between your HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus printer and computers running Mac OS. Here are some troubleshooting steps to resolve the "No Computer Found" error when trying to scan directly from the printer's panel:
Check Network Connection:
- Ensure both the printer and your Mac are connected to the same wireless network. Double-check network settings on both devices to confirm connectivity.
Reinstall HP Software:
- Uninstall the existing HP software and reinstall it using HP Easy Start. This ensures you have the latest printer driver and software compatible with Mac OS Tahoe 26.0.
Verify Printer Settings:
- Access the printer's control panel and navigate to the network setup. Run the Wireless Setup Wizard to reconnect the printer to your network.
Set the Printer as Default:
- On your Mac, go to "System Preferences" > "Printers & Scanners" and make sure your HP printer is set as the default printer.
Restart Devices:
- Turn off your printer, unplug it, and wait for a minute. Restart your Mac as well. Then, power on your printer and try scanning again.
Firewall Settings:
- Sometimes, the firewall settings on your Mac can block the communication between the printer and your computer. Check your firewall settings to ensure they aren't preventing the scan function.
Update HP Utility:
- Make sure your HP Utility is up to date. You can update it through the Mac App Store or HP's official website.
I hope this helps.

Hi @JohnG56,
Thank you for the response, the previous agent is unavailable at the moment, I'll be assisting you further.
I understand your HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 Plus can scan from the Mac using HP Easy Scan, but when trying to scan from the printer’s front panel, it shows “No Computer Found” after upgrading to macOS Tahoe 26.0. This is a known connectivity issue between the printer’s “Scan to Computer” feature and the newer Mac OS versions.
Here’s how to address it:
1. Verify Network Connectivity
Make sure both the printer and Mac are on the same Wi-Fi network.
Check the printer’s Wireless Network Test from the control panel.
2. Reinstall HP Software
Uninstall existing HP drivers and HP Utility from your Mac.
Download and install the latest version using HP Easy Start for macOS.
Complete the installation and ensure the printer is added correctly.
Note: HP Easy Scan will still work; however, the “Scan to Computer” button on the printer may not fully function on macOS Tahoe due to Apple’s changes in network scanning permissions.
3. Set Mac as Default Printer
System Settings → Printers & Scanners → Select your HP printer → Set as default.
4. Firewall & Security Settings
Go to System Settings → Security & Privacy → Firewall → Firewall Options.
Ensure HP software is allowed incoming connections.
5. Workarounds
If “Scan to Computer” still shows No Computer Found, use one of these alternatives:
Scan via HP Easy Scan on your Mac (USB or Wi-Fi).
Scan to Network Folder / Cloud from the printer panel.
Unfortunately, due to macOS Tahoe changes, the printer front-panel scan to computer feature may no longer work reliably. Apple has restricted the protocols that HP used for direct scanning.
I hope this helps.
