HP Officejet Pro 8600
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

On my Windows 10 device, Scan Wizard does not appear under HP icon.  I need to set up scanning to a specific email address from the computer (USB connection) so it appears on the display of the 8600.   I have 3 choices, Computer, USB removable media, and network folder.

Hi,

Apologies for jumping in.

The HP Officejet Pro 8600 (N911a) only support scanning to a network folder.

Scanning to email is only supported by the 8600 Plus (N911g) or Premium (N911n) models, hence you are not offered with a scan to email wizard option.

Additionally scan to email or a network folder are both only supported with a network connection of the pritner to a network, not with a USB connection.

If you have any mail client such as MS Outlook on your PC you may select Scan > Computer > Email as PDF and send the scanned document from your PC.

Shlomi

It's the expertise of knowing all the different flavors of a specific model -- and their individual capabilities/inabilities -- that is greatly appreciated.    Thank you!

Hi @NooberDan

You may want to check for "Scan to Email" under the Apps (on the front panel).  You probably need to do an update on the apps in order for the "Scan to Email" apps to appear.

Follow the on screen instructions to setup "Scan to Email".

As always, thanks @ShlomiL!

Have a nice day!

What new HP all in one printer STILL has the ability to scan directly one or more email addresses directly from printer interface?  I just bought HP officejet Pro 6978, and it only lets me scan to my computer or computers or USP (thumb drive).  HP needs to add the scan to email option back in!

I am replacing a 4 year old HP OfficeJet that did this... be user friendly and don't take away good/used features..
