I came home after some days away and my HP office.Jet pro 8710 does not have any copy or scan functions and the wireless has also been disabled. I have tried to restore the network but nothing's worked. I currently have an ethernet cable plugged in but I prefer wireless, and that doesn't solve the copy and scan options disappearing.

Hi @TB1201,
Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding scanning issues on your printer!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
Try these steps:
Check Basic Connections and Restart
- Restart the Printer: Turn off the printer, unplug the power cord, wait about 60 seconds, then plug it back in and turn the printer on.
- Ensure Connectivity: Make sure the printer is connected to your network either via Ethernet or Wi-Fi. For Wi-Fi, check that the network settings are correct.
Wireless Connection
- Reconnect to Wireless: On the printer control panel, navigate to the wireless settings to reconnect to your Wi-Fi network. Ensure that you enter the correct SSID and password.
- Run Wireless Tests: Use the printer’s internal tests to verify network connectivity. These are often found within the wireless settings or network menu.
Restore Network Defaults
- Network Settings Reset: You can reset network settings to default by accessing the setup menu on your printer's display. This will restore the default wireless settings.
Copy and Scan Functions
- Check for Paper Jams or Errors: Ensure that there are no paper jams or error messages on the printer.
- Perform a Scan Test: Use the HP Smart app or the built-in scanning tool to initiate a scan test and verify the scanner functionality.
- Update Firmware: Check the HP website for any available firmware updates for your printer model that might fix functional issues.
Software and Drivers
- Reinstall Printer Drivers: Reinstall the printer drivers on your computer using HP's official website. Ensure all drivers are up-to-date.
- Use HP Print and Scan Doctor: Download and use the HP Print and Scan Doctor tool to automatically diagnose and resolve any issues related to printing, scanning, and connectivity.
I hope this helps.
