I just updated the new HP Smart app, since I updated my operating system to OS Ventura. Now when I scan a document there is no option to save the pdf to my desktop or computer. How can I simply download and save my pdf???

Hi @KeP57,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If you're using an HP Envy 4500 printer and you don't see an option to save a scan to your computer, there are a few things you can check and steps you can take to troubleshoot the issue. Please follow these steps.
- Ensure the HP software is installed: Make sure you have installed the full software package for your HP Envy 4500 printer on your computer. This software includes the necessary drivers and utilities to enable scanning functionality. If you haven't installed it yet, you can download the software from the official HP website.
- Check the printer connection: Verify that your printer is connected to your computer either via USB or over the network (if it's a wireless printer). The connection should be stable and functional for the scanning feature to work properly.
- Update drivers and software: Ensure that you have the latest drivers and software installed for your HP Envy 4500 printer. Outdated drivers or software can cause compatibility issues, including problems with scanning.
- Restart the printer and computer: Sometimes, a simple restart of both the printer and the computer can resolve temporary glitches.
- Use the HP Scan software: If you're attempting to scan directly from the printer control panel but don't see the option to save to your computer, try using the HP Scan software on your computer instead. Look for the HP Scan application in your computer's list of installed programs or search for it in the start menu.
- Check for scan settings: Sometimes, scan settings might be configured to automatically save scans to a different location or device. Open the HP Scan software and check the settings to ensure it is set to save scans to your computer.
- Reinstall the software: If all else fails, you may consider uninstalling the HP Envy 4500 software from your computer and then reinstalling it. This can often resolve issues caused by corrupt installations.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
