Hi,
I wanted to Scan some documents in hebrew and yiddish into my computer but I want it to be OCR'd in those languages as we I know this works for English, but does it work for Hebrew as well? How many languages does this support? Are there any updates that I need to update the language database of how it is OCR'd?
Thanks!

Welcome to HP Forums,
This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips. Thank you for posting your query. I'll be more than glad to help you out 🙂
To scan a document to editable text (Windows):
-
Load your original print-side down on the scanner glass or print-side up in the automatic document feeder.
For more information, see Load the scanner or Load the document feeder.
-
Open the printer software. For more information, see Open the printer software (Windows).
-
Select Save as Editable Text (OCR), and click Scan.
NOTE:
Click the More link in the top-right corner of the Scan dialog box to review and modify settings for any scan.
In the scan settings, you should have an option to select the language. I am not sure if Hebrew and Yiddish are available as an option.

Thank you for responding. I appreciate your time and efforts.
I see that the latest printer drivers does not have the language selection option.
Select the OCR option while scanning and scan. Refer to the image below.
Tips for OCR conversion:
1: Limit pages that contain underlining, forms, graphics, rotated text, photographs, and handwriting.
2: Scan images squarely.
3: Make sure the pages are free of extraneous marks.
4: Maximize the scanning resolution.
5: Use 300 dots per inch (dpi), black and white scanning.
