HP Officejet Pro 8600 Plus e-All-in-One Printer - N911g

I have an Officejet Pro 8600 Plus. I recently upgraded from Mac OS Monterey 12.0 to Mac OS Ventura 13.0 on a MacBook Pro 16-inch 2019. Since the upgrade, I am unable to scan a document to the computer in pdf format. When I attempt to scan a document as a pdf, the image on the computer is blank. I get the same result whether I initiate the scan from the printer control panel or the HP Easy Scan app on my computer.

The scanner works fine if I scan as a jpeg. Is there a solution to this?

I see that you are facing scanning issues using HP Smart App from your Mac computer.

 

Please follow the steps listed below to uninstall and reinstall HP Smart App.

1. Click Finder, and then click Applications. 
2. In the list of apps, click and drag the HP Smart app to the Trash at the end of the dock.
3. Go ahead and Update the software on Mac PC from this link.
4. Once the PC is turned back on and idle, download HP Smart App. Once installed, check if you can access the app.

Actually, my issue is with using the control panel on the printer itself to scan documents to my computer in a pdf format. I have no problems importing documents as a pdf when I use the HP Smart app. But since upgrading to MacOS 13 (Ventura), I am unable to import documents in pdf format using the control panel on the printer. If I import a document as a pjeg, it works just as it did prior to the software update.
