How can I get my HP scan Icon to connect to my printer/scanner. I notice that the OfficeJet 8035 scan is removed from my printers and scanners in Control Panel. I reinstalled the HP driver pack but it wasn't fixed. I am able to scan from the touch screen on the printer.

Hi @JMuns,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand the HP Scan icon on your computer no longer detects your OfficeJet 8035, even though scanning from the printer’s touchscreen works. Let’s try a few steps to get the scan function working again.

a. Restart Printer and PC

Turn the printer off, unplug the power cord for 30 seconds, then plug it back in and turn it on.

Restart your computer as well.

b. Make Sure Printer Is Added Back to Windows

Go to Control Panel > Devices and Printers or Settings > Bluetooth & devices > Printers & scanners.

If the OfficeJet 8035 is missing, click Add device and re-add it (Wi-Fi or USB, whichever you use).

c. Reinstall HP Smart & Scan Software

Open Apps & Features.

Uninstall:

HP Smart (if installed)

HP OfficeJet Pro 8030 Series drivers

HP Scan or HP Easy Scan (if visible)

Restart your PC.

Download and reinstall HP Smart from the Microsoft Store or Full Feature Software and Driver from HP’s official website.

d. Re-enable Windows Scan Components

Press Windows + R, type services.msc, press Enter.

Make sure these services are Running & set to Automatic:

Windows Image Acquisition (WIA)

Print Spooler

DCOM Server Process Launcher

RPC Endpoint Mapper

If any are stopped, start them and apply.

e. Add Printer to HP Scan Manually

Open HP Scan.

Click Settings > Select Device > Refresh/List Devices.

Choose OfficeJet 8035 from the list and apply.

I hope this helps.
