Hello all,
I recently purchased an HP OfficeJet 5255 printer/scanner. I am also running the HP Smart App on my laptop (Windows 10) and iphone. Here's the problem -- when I go to manually scan documents on the printer, I get a prompt that says "Visit HP.123 to get the app for your phone or software for your computer". It will not let me scan. First of all, I already have the software and app. Secondly, I don't seem to have any way to workaround this now and just scan manually, which is my preference.
I absolutely don't want to be forced into scanning only from my smart phone. That defeats the purpose of having scan capability on the printer in the first place. Can anyone help?
Thanks!

Hi,
Thanks for using the HP Support Community.
Can you download and install the FULL featured printer software from HP for your operating system:
This resource will show you how.
Once you have downloaded and installed the FULL feature software, you will be able to print and scan.
(i.e. "Visit HP.123 to get the app for your phone or software for your computer" prompt will be gone)
Hope that helps.
