Hi @sistersgal,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be happy to help you!
If you're unable to find the scanned results on your computer after using your Officejet Pro 6968, here are some steps you can take:
Check Default Save Location: Open the HP Scan software on your computer and check the default save location for scanned files. The scanned files are usually saved in the "Documents" or "Pictures" folder on your computer by default.
Search for File Name: If you remember the name of the file you scanned, you can use the search function on your computer to look for it. Enter the file name in the search bar and see if the file appears in the search results.
Check File Type: Ensure that you're looking for the scanned file in the correct file type. For example, if you scanned a document as a PDF, make sure you're not looking for a JPEG file.
Check Scanner Settings: Check the settings on your scanner to ensure that the scanned file was saved properly. Sometimes, files can be saved to a different location or format than expected due to incorrect settings.
Restart Computer: Sometimes, a simple restart of your computer can help resolve issues with finding scanned files.
Re-scan Document: If you still can't find the scanned file, try re-scanning the document and make sure to note the location where the file is saved.
Update Scanner Software: Check for updates for your scanner software and install any available updates. Outdated software can sometimes cause issues with file saving.

I really appreciate your thorough answer. I've been trying to troubleshoot all morning, and I've come to the conclusion is the combination of a new computer and an aged printer! I'll hold on to the printer as long as it lets me (wirelessly) print, because after going through all the scan software info only to have it tell me my wireless connection is not secure (which I know for a fact is not true) I'll just find another way as I don't scan that much anyway. At least printing is great, and I certainly know more about my computer software than I did!!
