I have an OfficeJet 8600 and I'm attempting to setup fax to network file. I downloaded the HP smart program and in the advanced settings I see a link to "HP Digital Fax
» Fax to E-mail/Network Folder". The link attempts to open a website that is no longer supported by any browser. Is there a work around?

Hi @romarcin,
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
The HP OfficeJet 8600 series no longer directly supports fax-to-network file functionality via the HP Digital Fax website. However, you can still set up faxing to an email or network folder, though the process might require alternative steps.
Here’s a general workaround for setting up fax-to-network file functionality.
Use a Dedicated Fax-to-Email Service:
- You can use an online fax service (like eFax or MyFax) to send faxes to an email address. Many of these services allow you to set up an email inbox that receives faxes, and you can forward or save those faxes as files to your network folder.
Fax to Email Setup:
- If your OfficeJet 8600 supports it, you can configure it to send incoming faxes directly to an email address. In the printer's web interface (accessible via the printer's IP address in a browser), go to Fax Settings > Fax to Email and input the email address for fax delivery.
Scan and Save Manually:
- If the above options aren’t suitable, you can scan incoming faxes and save them manually to a network folder using the Scan to Network Folder feature. You will need to configure this in the printer’s web interface as well. To do this, set up the network folder path for the scanned files, and manually store received faxes via scanning.
Firmware/Software Update:
- Check if there's any firmware update available for your printer that might include updates to the digital fax features or alternate methods for setting up the fax-to-network functionality.
To access the printer’s web interface, follow these steps:
- Ensure the printer is connected to the same network as your computer.
- Find the printer's IP address (from the printer’s display screen).
- Open a browser and enter the IP address to access the printer's settings.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.
