I am not able to open the HP Scan Software inside of my program folders.  I would like to be able to scan multiple pages into one document using my HP printer/scanner.  I called tech support and they said the issue is that my printer uses USB 2.0 and my laptop ports are all 3.0.  That doesn't make sense to me.  Any thoughts?

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

If you are using a USB cable between the printer and the computer, there might be communication issues and you might not be able to print or scan as the port specs are different on both the devices.

Click here to check the USB port specifications for this printer under Connectivity.

However, you will be able to scan if the printer is connected wirelessly to the computer.

Step 1: Set up the printer on your wireless network

  1. From the printer control panel, touch or swipe down the tab at the top of the screen to open the Dashboard, and then touch  (Wireless).
  2. Touch  ( Settings ).
  3. Touch Wireless Settings.
  4. Touch Wireless Setup Wizard.
  5. Enter your wireless network password to complete the setup.

Note: Make sure to connect both the devices to the same wireless network. This printer only supports 2.4GHz network.

To change from a USB connection to a wireless network (Windows)

  1. Open the HP printer software. For more information, see Open the HP printer software (Windows).
  2. Click Tools.
  3. Click Device Setup & Software.
  4. Select Convert a USB connected printer to wireless. Follow the onscreen instructions.

Step 2: Clean uninstallation of HP drivers

  1.  In Windows, search for and open Programs and features
  2.  Select your HP Printer
  3.  Select Uninstall
  4.  In Windows, search for and open Devices and printers
  5.  In the Devices and Printers windows look for your HP printer. If you see it listed right-click on it and choose ‘Delete’ or ‘Remove Device’
  6.  Open up the run command with the “Windows key + R” key combo.
  7.  Type printui.exe /s and click Ok. (Note: there is a space in between “printui.exe” and “/s”)
  8.  Click on the “Drivers” tab
  9.  Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it Click on it and click Remove at the bottom
  10.  Select Ok
  11.  Select Apply and Ok on the Print Server Properties windows
  12.  Close Devices and Printers, restart the computer.

Step 3: Click here to download HP Full-featured driver.

Once downloaded, make sure to run the file to start the installation.

Step 4: Search windows for HP > Click on your printer to open HP Printer Assistant

Click Scan > Scan as PDF(to scan multiple pages and save as one document)

Let me know how this goes.
