OfficeJet Pro 7740

Hi all!

Recently our OfficeJet Pro 7740 has issues scanning documents.

On the pdf setting it stretches/fades certain lines of text. When scanning to images it kinda warps the letters but not as bad.

The glass plate is clean and it does not change per document.

Maybe one of you can point me in the right direction?

Hi @Jorryt ,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It sounds like there might be an issue with the scanner's settings or calibration. Here are a few steps you can try to troubleshoot and resolve the problem:

Check Scanner Settings: Make sure the scanner settings are configured correctly. Ensure that the resolution, color mode, and other settings are appropriate for the type of document you're scanning.

Calibration: Some scanners have calibration options that can help improve scanning quality. Check the user manual for instructions on how to calibrate your OfficeJet Pro 7740.

Update Drivers and Firmware: Ensure that your printer/scanner drivers and firmware are up to date. Sometimes, software updates can fix bugs and improve performance.

Reset Settings: Try resetting the scanner settings to default and then reconfigure them according to your preferences. This can sometimes resolve issues caused by incorrect settings.

Inspect Scanner Hardware: Even though you mentioned that the glass plate is clean, it's worth double-checking for any smudges or debris that might be affecting the scanning quality. Also, inspect the scanner's rollers and other hardware components for any signs of damage or wear.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
