OfficeJet Pro 8740 on-printer scan shortcuts

On our old Lexmark printer we were able to set up some "smart solutions" for common tasks. For example, choosing some pre-set values for common jobs: (a) scan color single-sided to e-mail address X (b) scan b/w single-sided to e-mail address Y (c) scan color double-sided to e-mail address Z.

I finally found instructions on how to create printer shortcuts (the on-printer ones that show up via the shortcut icon on the printer's screen) online.  But when following the directions, clicking on an icon didn't give any feedback for creating a shortcut. No shortcut was created.

It looks like we can manually set the single-sided/double-sided and color/black-and-white options in the "settings" button per job. Is there any way to store these common settings to a shortcut on the printer?

I see that you are looking to create some presets on your Officejet 8740 e-All-in-One Printer. The printer would not have any features similar to what you are describing.

What's the best way to request this functionality?  All of the apps you have are cool. But this would actually improve our productivity.
