Product: OfficeJet Pro8710
Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I bought the Pro8710 because in the shop they demonstrated that I could scan a document into a searchable file format (i.e. the ability to search for a key word in the document that has been scanned).

 

Having installed the HP Smart app, the only formats that the scannor seems to support is PDF/JPG, neither or which will work for me.

 

Please advise how I can solve this?

Hi,

OCR functionality is provided as part of the HP Full Feature software, not by HP Smart.

 

Follow the following utility which will download the full feature software for your printer, then be sure to follow the steps on screen to install the software:

http://ftp.hp.com/pub/printers/hppsdr/HPPSdr.exe
