When I try to scan on my Officejet 5740, I get the following error message "Turn the printer off and then on again. If the problem persists, the scanner has become damaged and can not copy or scan." I found a knowledge base article from 2016 that suggested a hard reset and then attempting to copy with the cover open. After doing so, the scanner bulb did not glow, nor did the scanner move across the glass. The error message displayed. Please advise further actions we can take.

Appreciate you trying the steps. I'm afraid this would confirm a hardware issue and the printer needs to be serviced.
