Operating System: Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

This printer hasn't got a scan to SMB share from the device?  I can scan my computers but not the share.

If I scan to the computer I set up (once) the scanner app that would forward the scan to the folder share and name it. 

Now, all that happens is it opens the old school fax and scan app that saves everything as a .jpg horrific.

 

What am I doing wrong here?  have I got to set up the Synology share differently?

Hi,

The Officejet 8010 does not offer any Direct Digital Filing capabilities to scan to SMB share directly, scanning can be done from the HP Smart app or the HP Scan application.

 

You cannot share direct scanning to a folder with this model, you may install the Full Feature Software by following the HP Easy Scan Utility, then you may select Scan > Computer to scan to the HP Scan program directly from the printer front panel:
